The enchanting village of Krautscheid nestles into one of the Europe’s most fascinating regions: the Eifel. Above all, the Eifel is characterised by its diverse landscape, making it a popular tourist destination. Although the Eifel was still considered poor and backward in the 19th century, today it is the ultimate goal for cyclists, hikers and bikers. Wide landscapes, fresh air, clear rivers, picturesque river valleys, untouched flora and fauna and numerous nature reserves promise an intense experience of nature.
Discover Germany’s “Wild West” – the Eifel, a region devoid of mass tourism and thus allowing great individual holidays.

DISCOVER OUR ENCHANTING REGION
The Islek region stretches from the St. Vither Land and Schneifel in the north to the Bitburger and Luxemburger Gutland in the south. It is traversed on both sides by the River Our. Hills up to 570 metres in height and picturesque river valleys characterise this sparsely populated, enchanting region. Bordered to the east by the Prümer Kalkmulde and the Kyllburg Forest and to the west by the High Ardennes, the Islek offers the Eifel at its best.
Whether on foot, by bike or motorcycle, whether on your own or taking part in a guided tour – the German-Luxembourg-Belgian border region invites you to come and discover it.
